The Vermont Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) is responsible for collecting and analyzing criminal and juvenile justice data, and producing general information and statistical reports on crime, criminal and juvenile offenders, and the administration of criminal and juvenile justice. The SAC plays a critical role in the development of criminal and juvenile justice policy by furthering the use of evidence-based practices and promoting the effective and efficient administration of criminal and juvenile justice through research and analysis.
In 2014, through Executive Order 06-14, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) was officially designated as Vermont's Statistical Analysis Center. DPS is currently contracting with the Crime Research Group to provide the necessary SAC services identified in the Executive Order.
