Committees and Boards

The Department of Public Safety is grateful for all of the dedicated Vermont state employees and volunteers who serve on boards and committees.

Law Enforcement Advisory Board
Advises the Commissioner, Governor, and General Assembly on the cooperation and coordination of agencies that exercise law enforcement responsibilities.
State Police Advisory Commission
All allegations of misconduct by State Police officers are given to the State Police Advisory Commission (SPAC) for review.
Emergency Communications Advisory Council
Provides input on how Vermont’s public safety community may best use the evolving broadband technology with current communication systems now in use.
VIBRS Advisory Board
A board created to provide advice and counsel to the Criminal Justice Services Division of the Vermont Department of Public Safety regarding the operation of the VIBRS network.
Public Safety Communications Task Force
The Public Safety Communications Task Force was established in June, 2023 to oversee and manage the transition to a public safety communications system
Governor's Emergency Preparedness Advisory Council
Assess the State's overall homeland security preparedness, policies, and communications and to advise on trategies to improve our current system.
Animal Cruelty Investigations Advisory Board
Advises the governor, Legislature and DPS commissioner on issues involving animal welfare responsibilities.
Regional Dispatch Working Group
Advises the Governor and General Assembly on the new regional dispatch model
Valcour Governance Board
A board comprised of state, county and municipal public safety agencies to govern and regulate the Valcour CAD/RMS system.
